Property Assistant Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 September 2026

The short version. Property Assistant stores your account and the property analyses you save, in Sydney, so only you can see them. It has no advertising and no analytics that profile you. We use a few services to look up addresses, send emails and run the app, listed below. You can delete everything.

This policy covers the Property Assistant app. The B&E Media Privacy Policy covers this website and anything not described here.

Your account

You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Apple. We store your email, a display name (your email, or the name Google or Apple provides), which sign-in you used, your plan level and when you joined. We do not store your password: Firebase Authentication handles it. If you use Google or Apple, they tell us your name and email and nothing else we keep.

Your analyses

The calculator needs real figures to be useful, so a saved analysis holds what you entered: the property’s address, price and ownership share, your deposit and loans, rent and running costs, your income tax rate and other income, answers about buyer residency and prior ownership, and the results we calculated. Each saved analysis is tied to your account, and the database is set up so that only your account can read it.

When you calculate, your inputs are sent to our calculation service in Sydney, which returns the results. It does not keep a copy; the analysis is stored only when you save it.

Services that help run the app

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud— sign-in, database, calculation service and logs, in Sydney (australia-southeast1); performance measurements; and Google Street View images of the property you chose.
  • Google and Apple sign-in— if you choose them.
  • Supabase— hosts the Australian address database (G-NAF) that address search looks up. It receives the text you type.
  • LINZ Data Service— New Zealand’s official address data, for New Zealand searches. It receives the text you type.
  • Resend— sends account emails (for example, to tell you your password was changed) and delivers feedback to our team, from servers in Japan.

Each receives only what it needs for its part of the job. We do not sell your information, and the app contains no advertising.

Emails

We email you only about your account: a password reset you asked for, and a notice when your password is changed. Property Assistant does not send marketing email.

Deleting your data

In the app:Settings → Delete Account. You will be asked for your password, then your account, all saved analyses and your portfolio are deleted permanently.

Signed in with Google or Apple, or cannot sign in? Use the account deletion page and choose Property Assistant. We confirm by email that the request came from you, then delete the same data by hand.

What is left afterwards: feedback emails already in our mailbox (we delete these too if you ask), delivery records kept by our email provider, server logs until they expire after 30 days, and cached street view images, which are not linked to you.

Uninstalling the app removes anything stored on your phone, but does not delete your account — do that first.

Accuracy of the figures

Property Assistant is in testing. Its calculations are estimates and are not financial or tax advice; see the Terms.

Children

Property Assistant is for adults making property decisions. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the app starts collecting something new, this page is updated before that version is released.
